Building Snowbound: warmth is a decision
Making survival understandable without making the mountain harmless.
One resource, two futures
Wood serves both the campfire and shelter construction. Burning it solves an immediate problem; investing it reduces future pressure. That competition is the heart of Snowbound. If every resource served only one purpose, gathering would become a shopping list.
A journey with an end
The expedition moves from a crash site to a rescue ridge through seven regions. Travel requires time, scouting, stamina and a ration. The tower introduces a final repair objective, bringing earlier material choices into the ending rather than simply adding another collection task.
Readable exposure
Day and night alternate, and weather cycles through increasingly harsh conditions. Warmth is a meter, but the player also sees fuel remaining and the current conditions. A coat reduces exposure across the journey; a bedroll improves recovery. These are persistent session advantages rather than cosmetic rewards.
Finding a sustainable rhythm
Scout for food and cloth, gather construction materials and tend the fire before traveling. Rest replenishes stamina at a hunger cost, so recovery is not free. The intended expedition lasts roughly 15–30 minutes, with pause available throughout. A successful route should feel prepared rather than lucky.
