Pizza Shift and the art of divided attention
Why the queue matters as much as the oven.
A kitchen needs overlapping demands
Preparing a pizza is straightforward when there is only one customer and no clock. Pizza Shift adds independent patience timers and a shared oven. While one pizza bakes, the player can inspect the next ticket and decide who needs service first.
Accuracy is a choice under pressure
Each ticket lists its exact toppings. Extra ingredients are mistakes, not automatic upgrades. The oven has a visible ideal window. Correct assembly and correct timing both contribute to a strong order, with immediate feedback distinguishing the two.
A shift is a complete arc
Each shift has a revenue target and a closing time. Customers arrive more frequently as the evening gets harder. Between shifts, earned money can improve the oven’s timing tolerance or the value of accurate preparation. The upgrade choice addresses the player’s actual bottleneck.
Failure should teach
A lost customer is a warning before it becomes a closed kitchen. A poorly baked pizza still produces a small return but breaks the performance streak. These partial outcomes give a struggling player useful information and a chance to recover.
